For 2021, EMI is hosting the 2 sessions of SME Banking Master class. Please find attached herewith details on SME BANKING MASTER CLASS – Enhanced Strategy and Risk Management in an Era of Crisis.
This high level training will be delivered in 2 groups at Voila Bagatelle Hotel as follows:

              Batch 1: February 22nd to 24th 2021 and
              Batch 2: February 25th to 27th 2021   

This intensive 3-day course is designed to provide delegates hands-on training on building and sustaining a successful SME banking strategy – one that raises the performance of their institution and complements their retail lending. It applies to banks in developed and emerging markets in an era of crisis, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, which has severely impacted SMEs across the world, and in Mauritius. Moreover, the training will give practical examples of how to create value by implementing efficient credit decisions and creating up-to-date rating and scoring systems.
The objectives of the training are as follows:

• Develop the skills and competencies of SME bankers in the main management domain of an SME-focused bank.
• Review all the management domains required to manage an SME bank, including sales and marketing, products and services such as risk- and relationship-based.
• Pricing, risk management (credit, market and operational) and the compliance constraints that influence the SME Bank activities.
• Develop a deep understanding of how to maximize the performance of the bank and develop the SME market profitably.
• Evaluate key success factors and challenges and equip SME bankers with tools and methodologies to enhance their effectiveness.
• Plan process to set goals, control costs and to increase the profitability of clients.
• Develop successful sales channel management and optimal client relationship management approaches.
• Understand the concept of risk-adjusted pricing using appropriate risk costs, under economic capital constraints and hence with RAROC and EVA performance focus.
• Develop risk management parameters during crisis.
• Assess the main risk factors in SME banking and how to mitigate these risk factors.

An HRDC approved course leading to 21 CPD and ongoing learning and development professional certifications.
